Awana Digital for Europe

Equipping Churches to Disciple Children and Youth Across Europe

Vision

Awana’s vision is simple: that children and youth would know, love and serve Jesus for the rest of their lives. We believe the local church has a unique role in helping children grow in faith, through trusted relationships, biblical teaching and leaders who have time to see, know and walk alongside them. We believe this is how resilient, lifelong disciples are formed.

That is why Awana is not primarily about programmes, curriculum or technology. It is about equipping churches to invest in children and young people.

The Awana Mission in Europe

Awana helps churches disciple children and youth so they can belong, believe and become. We want every child to experience a place where they are known and loved, discover a lasting faith in Jesus, and grow into a lifelong disciple who follows Him and serves others.

Across Europe, our vision is to strengthen what is already happening locally and make proven Awana resources more accessible across languages and cultures. We want to work alongside churches and existing Awana organisations, equipping local leaders, supporting translation and adaptation, and building partnerships that help more children and youth become resilient, lifelong disciples of Jesus.

A digital tool built to serve the mission

Over the last three years, Awana Norway has been developing a new digital platform to make it easier to bring Awana resources to churches and to make the everyday work of leaders simpler.

Awana Digital makes Awana content easier to organize, translate and publish in different languages. Instead of creating separate resources and systems for every country, the same content can be structured digitally and translated from English into multiple European languages, supported by AI, but reviewed, adapted, and controlled by local teams.

Group

Awana Digital connects the different parts of the ministry in one system. For national organizations, it provides a way to manage curriculum, languages, churches and users. For the local church, it becomes the place where leaders can organize groups, manage users, plan events and access the resources they need for each gathering.

A local church can create its Awana groups, connect leaders and organize the ministry around its own calendar. Upcoming gatherings are organized week by week, with the relevant material connected directly to each event.

The technology should stay in the background. Its purpose is to help leaders arrive better prepared and spend their energy where it matters most: with the children and youth in front of them.

Teaching made easy to use

Teaching resources and presentation material are built into the platform.

A leader can prepare the lesson beforehand and then use the same system during the gathering, with slides and speaker notes ready for presentation. The curriculum, teaching notes, activities and slides are all accessible directly through Awana Digital through the web browser on a phone or laptop, or through our native apps for iOS and Android.

This creates a simple flow from curriculum, to preparation, to the actual meeting.

Presentation

One foundation, many languages

One of the challenges in Europe is the need for translation of good content into local languages. Awana Digital allows local partners to work from a common English source and then translate the same structured content into their local language. That means countries do not have to build everything from the beginning. There is no need to learn and license complicated publishing software simply to adapt the curriculum to a local language and context.

We can share the same technology and the same curriculum foundation, while allowing the ministry to be expressed in the language and context of each country. This makes it easier to bring new digital resources across borders.

Equipping parents for faith at home

We are also developing a new resource designed specifically for parents and families. The goal is to equip parents with simple, practical tools that help them build meaningful rhythms of faith into everyday family life.

Through inspiration, guidance, family activities, prayer, Bible engagement and simple weekly routines, we want to make it easier for parents to disciple their children at home.

Our vision is that the local church and the home can work together more intentionally, creating environments where children are surrounded by relationships, habits and conversations that help form lasting faith.

By supporting both church leaders and parents, we hope to strengthen the everyday discipleship that helps children and youth grow into resilient, lifelong followers of Jesus.

Gathering and equipping leaders across Europe

Awana Europe is also working to create new spaces where church leaders, Awana leaders and ministry partners can meet, learn from one another and be equipped for the work of discipling children and youth.

We envision European leader gatherings and Awana conferences in different parts of Europe, bringing together people who share the same vision for resilient, lifelong discipleship.

Our goal is to develop a growing European network of leaders who can encourage one another, strengthen local ministry and help more churches invest intentionally in the next generation.

Preparing for Europe

We are now preparing the platform for broader use across Europe, improving multilingual support, translation workflows and the tools needed by national partners and local churches.

Our goal is to make it easier for more churches to access Awana resources, equip their leaders well, and spend less time on administration and more time investing in children.
